My experience of this great privilege and pleasure was, however, in a cold and drizzly Northern flight school – very far removed from the delights of the Florida resorts, where you can now achieve ALL types of license from Private right through to Commercial or Airline standard. Instrument ratings, multi engine qualification and hour building, are all available as well as ground school classes. Commercial flight schools in Florida consistently produce many of our top Airlines’ pilots.

Florida’s warm weather and year-round availability of flight training, means that student pilots can complete their training in a shorter period of time than in most other parts of the US. There is after all an average of over 300 days each year when you WILL be cleared for take-off and not sitting in the Flight School diner, looking skywards, nursing a cup of coffee! A key center for flight training that mixes the Florida resort life with the business of getting airborne, is Daytona Beach. Situated on Florida’s Central East Coast, Daytona Beach offers around 23 miles of staggeringly white sand beaches, and those so important, nearly perfect flying conditions.
