Aviation, Safety for All

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Aviation safety is essential, we know that. But, how has it changed over the course of the last few years? First off, it is obvious that we have to wait longer to board our flights. Weapons and anything that could be used as a weapon have been banned. This includes the simplest razor as well. We wait while people are screened and bags are passed through metal detectors and x-ray machines. But, has anything gotten any better?

It is safe to say that aviation has gotten safer. It has improved in many ways in which we could never have imagined needed only a decade ago. We are much safer boarding a plane now than we ever were. To what level will we need to protect each other though is unclear. A decade ago we never would have considered aviation to be a weapon, either.
